Birthday Party F.A.Q.

Q: On what days and times can we have our party at Pickwick ?
A:  Parties are based upon our public session hours
The most popular times fall on our weekend day sessions, 2pm-4pm.
However all of our session times are available for hosting a party.
Once you determine which session you wish to attend, the choice is
now, what time you wish to have your party room.

Q: What are your party room times ?
A: Party room times occur:  - (1) hour prior to the public session
                                       or  - (1) hour following the public session
for example our Saturday public is from 2pm-4pm 
so you may  choose to have your party from:   1p-2p  or   4p-5p

Q: What is the appropriate age to have an ice skating party ?
A: Our parties are fun no matter what age you are, whether you are
3 YEARS OLD, 10 YEARS OLD, a TEENAGER or an ADULT, it's all good.

If your party consist mostly of toddlers age 3-6, we would recommend
considering renting a coach for 30 minutes to teach a group lesson.

If your party has mostly late teens and adults, how about trying our
Saturday night public. We darken the arena and add lighting effects.

Q: Does Pickwick Ice provide walkers ?
A: No, walkers unfortunately cause more of a hazard to your kids. 
For young skaters we recommend that parents skate with them, 
it is a memory they will always remember.  We also recommend
signing everyone up for our "Skating Academy Classes"
(click on LEARN TO SKATE on the left.) 

Q: What if some of the kids in the party have never skated ?
A: Honestly, at any given party and public session there are many
people who have never skated before.  Birthday parties are fun because
they bring your group together. The stronger skaters help out the less
experienced ones.  But if you are still concerned, we recommend hiring
a coach for thirty minutes.  Besides teaching safety, the coaches make
the whole experience more fun and memorable.

If it is the birthday child who doesn't know how to skate, I would also recommend a private lesson or a Skate Academy Class prior to the party.

Q: May we bring in outside food or drinks ?
A: Sorry, the answer is no- the only exception is cake or other desert. 
We do have a catering kitchen as part of our facility, and we can prepare any number of delicious items upon request for an additional cost.  Please note, service charges and tax do apply to all party  food items.

Q: What is the cost ?
A: We have two options - the DELUXE and AL A CARTE,
both options are detailed on the page "Party Packages"

Q: How can we book a party ?
A: It's fast an easy.... we would love to give you a quick tour of our
facilities and show you where your skating celebration will take place.
We do require a signed contract, and a $145.00 non-refundable deposit.
